Hi, I'm Deanna Schober, CPT, PN1, creator of Fit to be Pregnant and the Strength in Mothers program. I'm also a mom of four and have helped millions of women online through my various programs and content!
Every day I coach moms who are struggling with dieting, food and body obsession, and their post-baby bodies. Often I will tell one client about an epiphany another one had, or how they approached the same struggle, and think to myself how much they would benefit from each other's experience and support.
This sparked an idea....what if I created a mentorship where I led these women through the same lessons and coaching that I use with my one-on-one clients, but offer it in a high-touch, intimate COMMUNITY setting instead? Something that offered a body-positive, understanding, supportive environment with the chance to connect regularly?
As a member of a mastermind of women myself, I know firsthand exactly how much FASTER I learn when I surround myself with others who are working through the same struggles. Each time I connect with these women, I feel supported, I feel validated, and my strides are 100x faster than they were when I was struggling through the same things alone.
This idea is how this mentorship program was born.
Not only are we going to take a deep-dive into these food and body issues together, we're going to become best friends in the process!
I spent my early years of motherhood in a constant state of food and body obsession that led me to either be overweight and unhappy, or lean and unhappy.
As a new mom, I found myself struggling with my weight for the first time in my life, with zero understanding of my new body.
Taking cues from popular fitness and diet programs, I dieted myself down to a goal weight, and then watched in horror as the minute I relaxed, the scale would climb right back up.
For YEARS, I was bouncing back and forth between two extreme patterns: obsessing over everything I ate and exercising until I dropped, to giving up and comforting myself and my failures with food.
All I thought about was food: what to eat, how much to eat, how I could stop eating so much of it, how I could eat at a party, how I could eat at a restaurant, how other people ate, etc. etc. etc. When I wasn't thinking about food, I was obsessing over my body. I stared in the mirror, picking myself apart and cursing pregnancy for leaving this mess behind.
Looking back now on my life at that time, I realize that I literally had no idea what I was doing. I knew what I was doing wasn't working, but I had no idea why.
And on top of all of this "figuring out things", I also had tiny children and new babies to care for and needed to figure THEM out.
Fast forward a few years, before my fourth pregnancy, I was able to diet down to the leanest I had ever been. I had a six pack. I was super-fit.
And I was *still* miserable.
I was still beating myself up in the mirror, I was still obsessed with food, I was still letting my obsession with my body rule my life. On top of that, all of my self-worth rested on this new fit body, and I had this crushing fear that just one bad food decision or one missed workout would bring it all crashing down.
Ugh. It's depressing to remember.
It finally hit me that here I was with the post-baby body I always thought I wanted, and yet everything was the same. So, what was going on here?
I took a step back and began to get some perspective. There were several things in common between the two extremes I had been yo-yoing between:
Maybe these common denominators were ACTUALLY the problem, and not what I was eating or how I was exercising or how much willpower I had.
I made the decision to explore this idea of how these factors might be affecting me and my now years-long battle with my post-partum body. And what I discovered eventually made perfect sense.
The way I was thinking was holding me back.
I was able to heal my relationship with my body and with food, and I did it without going to any extremes. I now sit naturally at my healthiest weight, I'm the fittest I've ever been in my life, and there is no more war or berating going on in my head. Just peace.
After I figured out this mental and physical transformation on my own, I looked around and realized that almost no fitness programs, especially for women having babies, were giving anyone the full picture. All I saw was "No excuses!" and more and more of that destructive diet mentality being pushed onto women who are already in one of the most vulnerable times of their lives.
So I created the program that *I* needed all those years ago.
It is my mission in life to help women during their most vulnerable time - pregnancy and postpartum - so they don't have to suffer with those obsessions the way I did.

What is the difference between this and private coaching with you?
This program is unique in that you will be working with me in an intimate setting, I'll be leading you through the same process as my private coaching clients, but you'll have the added benefit of a network of women supporting you, sharing their breakthroughs and struggles, and offering you unique perspectives you might not have on your own.
This program is also less than half the investment of my private coaching program.
What is the investment?

What if I'm not a new mom, or I'm not a mom at all?
The context of this program is motherhood and we discuss some of the specific obstacles we face, but the concepts would benefit ANY woman. I myself and no longer a "new" mom and while most of the women I work with are, I will bring the context of having older children as well.
How does the program work?
Each week for 6 months you will read/watch a short lesson and work through an exercise, then we will meet as a group weekly in an online video meeting room (Zoom). Deanna will re-cap the lesson and everyone will have the opportunity to share their insights, ask questions, and get coaching. You will also be able to connect between calls in a closed Facebook group.
Do I get any personalized coaching with Deanna?
Each week you'll have the opportunity for coaching directly from Deanna in the group call. You will also have the opportunity to purchase private calls at a discounted rate if you need extra help or clarity, but there will be plenty of time to work together in the group calls.
What is included in the program?
An online portal that has 6 months of weekly video and written lessons teaching you mindset concepts that will improve your relationship with food, heal your broken dieting patterns, change the way you see yourself and your body, learn to prioritize your own needs, and teach you a sustainable, long-term way to meet your goals so you can stop hopping on and off the bandwagon. You will also have access to coaching, support, and connection in our weekly group calls.
Can I join if I'm pregnant or just had my baby?
Yes! These mindset concepts are perfect for any phase of your life, and this is the core of the program. However, if you are pregnant or just gave birth, you must have permission from your doctor to do any exercise we may recommend.
Will I have to follow a strict diet?
NO! In fact, this program is the anti-diet. I will teach the NES system so you how to meet your nutrition needs while also enjoying life without restriction, all while pursuing any fat loss goals you desire the exact same way I do.
Do I have to be at the live workshop in September? What if I can't make it?
The workshop is not required and will be streamed live/recorded, but is highly recommended if possible - the in-person connection is where the magic really happens.
